Judge Hoyt won the Republican Primary on March 3, 2026 and will not have a Democrat opponent in the November 2026 General Election. Because Judge Sherman Krause’s passing created a vacancy on the Commissioners Court, the Court appointed Kristen early to fill the vacancy. She will be sworn in again on January 1, 2027 to begin her 4 year term.
